Service charges are amounts payable by the leaseholder to the landlord for the costs incurred in maintaining and running a building.
Our services include agreeing an initial budget, in particular advising on the expenditure headings to be included in accordance with the terms of the lease, issuing service charge demands against the budget, collecting payments in accordance with the terms of the lease and being pro-active in pursing arrears.
Our property management system allows us to set up and maintain a reserve fund for a property and we encourage this if the lease permits it. Accumulating a sum of money to cover major expenditure avoids large one off bills and assists leaseholders with their own budgeting.
The active, transparent and responsible control of service charges is critical to provide effective long term and well planned maintenance to any multi occupied building.
